Artwork | Generating Raster Files In BMP (Bitmap) Format

Overview

The Raster Artwork solution can now generate Bitmap (.BMP format) files to suit specific production requirements.

As with our other Raster output formats, the files are made up of a collection of pixels which combine to form an image. BMP format stores the colour data for each pixel in the image without any using compression. For example, a 10 by 10 pixel BMP image would include colour data for 100 pixels. This method of storing image information allows for crisp, high-quality graphics, but also produces large file sizes.
Note: As these files are uncompressed, they will generally have larger file sizes. This can affect the artwork generation and file download times as would be expected when handling larger files.

How to enable BMP Output

BMP is an Artwork Generation option in the Companies > Artwork Settings. To enable it:

      1. Go to CPP/OMS, Access Settings > Companies

      2. Find your Company and click the 'Advanced Settings' (Cog Icon) under the Actions column

      3. Scroll down to find the 'Artwork Generation / Raster Output Format' options.
Click the dropdown and select BMP

      4. Save your changes

Output files from orders associated with this Company will now be generated in BMP format.
