Catalog | Product Manager - Product Classification

What Is The Product Classification?

Within platform you now have the ability to set a product classification against your items, this is found within the eCommerce export and can be used as a search term within "Product Manager" and "Feeds".

Where Classifications Can Be Used?

The main use case of the product classification is from the feeds section, which can then be used to search for products that fit the classification. You can access feeds by going into the "Sales" module dropdown and selecting "Feeds" from the list. This has been shown in the below screenshot.

What Classifications Can I Set?

You can set classification for the follow fields detailed below,
  1. Clothing & Apparel - "clothing_apparel"
  2. Cases, Skins & Bags - "cases_skins_bags"
  3. Home Decor - "home_decor"
  4. Cards & Stationary - "cards_stationary"
  5. Mugs & Drinkware - "mugs_drinkware"
  6. Kitchen & Living - "kitchen_living"
  7. Food, Drink & Confectionary - "food_drink"
  8. Wall & Desktop Art - "wall_desktop_art"
  9. Books & Newspapers - "books_newspapers"
  10. Pet Products - "pet_products"
  11. Toys & Games - "toys"
  12. Calendars & Diaries - "calenders"
  13. Signs & Displays - "signs_display"
  14. Jewellery & Engraved Gifts - "jewellery_engraved_gifts"
  15. Labels & Identification - "labels_identification"
  16. Business Stationary - "business_stationary"
  17. Fabric Roll - "fabric_roll"
Please note, Fabric Roll has been added as a classification type to support Direct To Fabric (DTF) products. 
Clothing & Apparel has been split out into further classification options which are detailed below. This has been added to specify more accurate clothing types which can be searched with the classifications dropdown. 
  1. Clothing & Apparel > T-Shirts - "clothing_apparel_tshirts"
  2. Clothing & Apparel > Hoodies - "clothing_apparel_hoodies"
  3. Clothing & Apparel > Leisure Wear - "clothing_apparel_leisure"
  4. Clothing & Apparel > Other Clothing & Apparel - "clothing_apparel_other
Please note, the values after the dash are the ones that need to be set on the import to achieve the classification

How Do I Set Classification?

There are two methods here. You can either go into your blank product and heading into any product and heading to the "General" and "Details" menu where you can see the dropdown as shown below.

Alternatively you can set this data using our "eCommerce Data" import by using the fields "product.id" and "product.classification". Please use the spelling of the listed classifications on this article. Entering the spelling incorrect will result in the import erroring so please ensure this matches the article fields detailed in the above section.
